Featured on Brides Up North

I mentioned last week about a styled shoot I had photographed and couldn’t show the images. I didn’t think that it would be blogged so quickly but in my excitement to finish the images and submit them, only a week later, Julia from Brides Up North has blogged it today! You can see the post here but I shall be blogging more images later in the week.

Suzanne + Richard – pre-wedding shoot

Suzanne & Richard braved a cold winter morning at Heaton park so I could get some pictures of them for their pre-wedding shoot. They are such a thoughtful and lovely couple that they even brought me a cupcake in a box to say thanks – how nice is that:)Anyway here are my favourite images from the session.

Behind the scenes

OK, so I can’t share the images from yesterday’s shoot with you just yet but I can perhaps give you a little taster by showing you some behind the scenes pictures. To explain a little better, yesterday I took part in an amazing collaboration with some other creatives for an exclusive blog post (which shall be revealed in due course). It was a privilege and a pleasure to work with each and every one of them. The final results are definitely worth waiting for. In the mean time…

The best of 2011

2011 was an amazing year for me. I got to photograph some wonderful couples and grow my myself both as a person and a photographer. I got to shoot at some amazing venues including Mitton Hall, Stanley House, Stonyhurst College, The Inn at Whitewell, Bartle Hall and Mottram Hall to name but a few. On a more personal note, I got to see my little boy develop from a baby into a toddler and I even learnt some new cookery skills! Here’s just a short slideshow with some of my favourite images from the weddings I shot in 2011. Here’s to 2012 and all the new goals that await for me. Enjoy!

Why I love January

It might be cold, rainy & windy outside but I always like to look at January as a fresh start. It’s like standing at the entrance to a long driveway and looking at the year ahead which means looking forward to all the exciting things that are going to happen. When I was little my mum used to buy me a Diary for Christmas every year. I think I generally got as far as about March before it sat in the cupboard. I knew it was time to put it away when all my days consisted of ‘got up, went to school, came home, played, had tea, went to bed.’ These days things are a little different (cos I don’t go to school anymore!) but I still like looking back on what I’d been doing at the same time last year. So in case you are feeling a bit miserable about January here are 5 reasons why I love January.

1) I can start an exercise regime again

2) I get to open a new diary and put all my appointments in for the year

3) Early pyjamas and TV nights without feeling like I’m missing stuff going on outside

4) Comfort food

5) Wearing my new Christmas woolies
